Santa Clarita City Council a Bunch of Drunk Monkeys?

Blog reader rants about "another stupid blunder by SCV government."

Santa Clarita Real Estate Blog reader Bill Witthans wrote a great response to the post on the closing of Newhall Hardware and Newhall Redevelopment, calling the SCV Government a "Bunch of Drunk Monkeys".

While a lot of people echo Bill’s sentiments regarding the Old Town Newhall Revitalization Project, few have actually made their voices heard. Let’s let Bill speak for a lot of us… read on!

When Bill learned from a friend that Newhall Hardware was closing, "It was like someone said they have closed Mt Rushmore, the Grand Canyon or turned off Old Faithful! My heart sank cause I knew it was true, another victim of the Revitalization Program!"

Bill’s Thoughts On the Old Town Newhall Revitalization Project: "Revitalization? Who asked for this project? I did not in fact I do not know of one person who did? Downtown Newhall from ½ mile above Lyons Ave down to the 14 had all the "Good" stores left in this valley! Store’s that made a living by serving you! Not just from the fact that there was no where else to go! No "cookie cutter" business run and staffed by kids and people who don’t really have any interest in the jobs or businesses their in."

Bills Thoughts On the Library Project: "The talk was of the Library, Library? Why would you locate a library there? It’s not convenient to any large areas that would really use it? A better Idea would have be to create a larger more modern central library! That area is on the edge, not a place to locate a library… but then again common sense… and Newhall Hardware is closed!"

Will Bill Ever Visit "Revitalized" Old Town Newhall? "And it will be a cold day in you know where before I set foot in your redeveloped Newhall. Tell that to your prospective cookie cutter outlets! And oh by the way don’t forget to have an overpriced coffee shop!"

Read Bill’s entire post here. It’s worth the read!
