March Foreclosure Stats: Good News for Los Angeles County!

While California foreclosures are on the rise, LA County numbers look promising.

DataQuick released the first quarter (January through March) foreclosure statistics this week, and it included some good news for Los Angeles County residents.

While Riverside, Sacramento and Contra Costa Counties were hard hit, Los Angeles County’s default numbers were almost 60 percent below the first-quarter 1996 peak, "reflecting the depth of the recession in the mid-1990s as well as relative strength in today’s market."

DataQuick goes on to state that the effect of foreclosures on today’s market is "negligible".

And remember this is for ALL of Los Angeles County, including Palmdale, which was targeted for its relatively high rate of foreclosures in last month’s report.
