Hot Santa Clarita weather appears to bring out the crazies!

This Saturday in Santa Clarita, the heat was in the triple digits and most people were running for cover in the air conditioned malls or movie theatres instead of enjoying the rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia.

Not so some local teens, including my son. They got there before noon, and he had ridden Batman a total of nine times by the time he was picked up at 10pm. Most rides had virtually no wait times, and the longest line they had to endure was about 20 minutes. Scream was closed for much of the day, but all other rides were open for business.

Imagine their surprise when a streaker jumped the ticket turnstiles at about 5:30pm, evading park security for a while!

The teens say that this wasn’t your "typical" streaker looking for the thrill of running naked through a large crowd. He appeared to be "spaced out" or "on something" rather than someone taking a daring run through a public area with his family jewels exposed just for the thrill of it. Maybe he was just a day early for the Thrilled Ever After festivities and was looking for a thrill different than the planned wedding ceremonies?

Seems the heat makes some people go a little crazy! Magic Mountain park security caught the guy before he was exposed to too many visitors, but still some small children were subjected to his display before he was caught. The teens were a bit grossed out, but overall it didn’t seem to affect them much. Seems the streaking craze didn’t die out in the ’70’s after all!
