KB Homes is celebrating the grand opening of its new Blackberry Briar development in Santa Clarita’s Plum Canyon. These moderately priced homes are list priced from $515,990 to $579,990. Remember that this does not include lot premiums or upgrades, so think small lots with white tile kitchens and vinyl floors for anything close to these base prices.

Floor plans at Blackberry Briar include one single story home at 1852 square feet, plus a selection of two story homes ranging from 2337 to 3070 square feet. Homes are available with 3 to 7 bedrooms and 2 to 3 baths, with a 2-car garage. Too bad they didn’t offer a 3-car garage in the larger homes!

Blackberry Briar homes are quite attractive with island kitchens, formal living and dining, large family rooms and more. For those wanting new construction with good square footage and reasonable prices, it may be worth the trip to Plum Canyon as well as the added commute time.

It is advisable for all buyers to bring a Realtor with them on their first visit to these new developments. Otherwise you’ll be left at the mercy of the builder’s sales staff, and that can sometimes create issues that unrepresented buyers cannot solve by themselves. It does not cost you any more to bring your Realtor, and the builder will not negotiate prices down if you leave your Realtor at home. Remember, this is a FIRST VISIT rule, so don’t go to the sales office alone!
