Navigating Through Santa Clarita with Google and a Cell Phone

Google mobile has recently introduced a new tool that allows you to get directions on your mobile phone, without the need of a web browser.

Simply text what you're looking for to 466453 (GOOGLE). You can either request directions or look for a specific type of restaurant.

Here's what I got when requesting directions from my offices at Vintage Sotheby's International Realty to Valencia High School (23822 Valencia Blvd 91355 to 27801 Dickason 91355):

Distance: 2.6 mi (about 3 mins) 5 steps.
1. Head NE from Valencia Blvd (0.2)
2. (L) at Magic Mountain Pky (0.8)
3. (R) at McBean Pky (0.9)
4. (L) at Newhall Ranch Rd (0.5)
5. (R) at N Dickason Dr (0.2)

A request for Valencia Pizza gives the following results (be sure to use Valencia CA Pizza so you don't get Pizza in Spain):

Not all search requests were this good, but it's certainly a start. Look for more tools as Google Mobile continues to expand and ehance its offerings.
