Santa Clarita is one of Business Week’s Top 25 Affordable Suburbs in the U.S.

Santa Clarita offers the winning combination of affordability, academics, safety, and culture at a reasonable cost.

Although the Top 25 Affordable Suburbs in the U.S. may not boast the highest school scores or the lowest crime rates, they do have a winning combination of affordability, academics, safety, and culture that many families are looking for. All of the cities selected are within a one-hour drive of a major city.

In the Business Week study, Santa Clarita comes in as one of the higher priced suburbs with a median home price of $619,000. Coralville, Iowa comes in with the lowest median home price at $171,600.

The cost of living index for Santa Clarita comes in at 153.9 with a violent crime index of 47 and a secondary school test scores index of 104 according to the study.

More specifically, the study references the 91354 zip code, which encompasses primarily the Valencia areas of NorthPark, Tesoro del Valle, Creekside, the Valencia Copperhill area and Northbridge as well as the older North Valencia area.
