Magic Mountain to Remain as Theme Park

Residents breathe a sigh of relief as Valencia's Magic Mountain Theme Park is expected to remain open through 2007 and beyond.

After receiving offers from potential developers that were much lower than expected, Six Flags has announced that it intends to keep Magic Mountain and adjacent Hurricane Harbor operating in Valencia as a theme park.

Six Flags is still looking for another theme park operator to purchase Magic Mountain and keep it operational, but for now Six Flags will operate the theme park with only some minor changes.

Expect to see more discounts offered to entice families back to Magic Mountain, such as a free child’s season pass for every adult season pass purchased. Magic Mountain would like to see more families and fewer teens, since the teens don’t spend as much money on food and trinkets.

Magic Mountain, which boasts 17 roller coasters among its many rides, has been known as more of a teen park than a family park because of its thrill-park status.
