Status Quo at Santa Clarita City Hall
Voters reject challengers and reinstate incumbents.
Santa Clarita voters turned out in low numbers for the local Santa Clarita City Council election.
Preliminary results show that all three incumbents were re-elected, with the closest challenger being Mark Hershey. The City Council member with the least amount of votes was Laurene Weste.
Final results will be posted April 25 after all absentee ballots are verified by the Los Angeles County Recorder’s office.
Too bad there was such a low turnout for this election - this was the opportunity for Santa Clarita voters to change the way the City is run, and apparently most just didn’t care.
