Online resources added to help homeowners facing foreclosure.

With foreclosures on the rise in Santa Clarita and throughout the state, the State of California has created a page with helpful links for information on the foreclosure process.

The California page starts with a big warning that you should talk with your lender to see if you can avoid foreclosure, which is a very important first step.

Resources included are HUD’s Avoiding Foreclosure article, HUD’s How to Avoid Foreclosure brochure, the Veteran’s Administration (VA) article on Trouble Making Payments, Freddie Mac’s Avoiding Foreclosure article, and information on credit counseling.

The Freddie Mac article has excellent information on all aspects of the foreclosure process.

Remember: If you are facing foreclosure, it’s best to start looking at your options early on when you still have time on your side!
