Hospital to Build Expanded Emergency Room and Heart Diagnostic Center

$14.5 million in cash and pledges was raised via a 3-year campaign and is earmarked for an expanded emergency department and a cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Tom and Roberta Veloz were major contributors to the campaign, with Tom donating $1 million to start the campaign, and former wife Roberta donating $3 million to provide funding for the Cardiac Cath Lab, which will be named in her honor.

The nonprofit Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital relies on community support for expansion and improvements.
